Mayuka Kawamura & Tomoya Matsushita Selected for Fabulous Five at ADFEST 2025

Tokyo – We are proud to announce that AOI Pro. directors Mayuka Kawamura and Tomoya Matsushita have been selected as members of the "Fabulous Five" hosted by ADFEST. They will be attending the "Fabulous Five" session scheduled for March 21 in Pattaya, Thailand.
"Fabulous Five," formerly known as "Fabulous Four," is an annual short film competition for young commercial film directors in the Asia Pacific and Middle East. The program was expanded to include five directors, reflecting the success of past directors who screened their films at ADFEST, giving more directors the chance to make their first big break.
Each applicant submits a script inspired by the year’s festival theme. This year’s theme is "COLLiDE." Out of 26 submissions from six cities in the Asia Pacific and the Middle East, five scripts were selected by the Film Craft & New Director Jury.
The session showcasing the works of the five directors selected for "Fabulous Five 2025" is scheduled for March 21 at 11:50 am.
About Mayuka Kawamura
After graduating from the Department of Design at Tokyo University of the Arts, she studied under Professor Michihiko Yanai at the university’s Design Research Department. While at university, she explored the collaboration between sound and visuals, primarily using hand-drawn animation, stop motion, and rotoscope techniques. She was a finalist in the JAC AWARD 2024 Director category.
About Tomoya Matsushita
Tomoya Matsushita was born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1998. After graduating from Meiji University, Faculty of Information and Communication, Department of Information and Communication, he joined AOI Pro. Inc., as a member of the Planning and Direction Department. He enjoys depicting the unreal within reality—in other words, the extraordinary within the ordinary.

Founded in 1998, ADFEST is one of the biggest advertising festivals in Asia. This year it will be held for 3 days from March 20th to 22rd in Pattaya, Thailand.
