April 17, 2026
dwarf studios, AOI Pro. Inc. (hereinafter "dwarf") is pleased to announce that its original stop-motion animation short film, 'Mogu & Perol'—created and directed by Tsuneo Goda—will be produced as a 3DCG animated series of 39 episodes (7 minutes each) through a co-production with France's Zephyr Animation (part of the Madgic Group) and Taiwan's Aries Creative.

The series is scheduled to be broadcast on France Télévisions and Taiwan's Hakka TV, with pre-production having begun in spring 2026.
About 'Mogu & Perol'
The work is based on an award-winning 8-minute stop-motion short film produced by dwarf. The story is set on “Mori Mori Island,” a beautiful island rich in nature. The story features "Mogu," who is a big and kind chef, and "Perol," who is small and energetic with a passion for food and adventure. These two contrasting characters share joy, wonder, and heartwarming friendship with children around the world through delicious feasts and daily adventures.
Comment from Original Creator and Director Tsuneo Goda
The inspiration for "Mogu & Perol" first sparked when I watched my niece, who was four at the time, enjoying her meal with such genuine delight. It made me realize what profound happiness a simple, delicious moment can bring. It was from this heartfelt feeling that this stop-motion short film was created.
Our world isn't about vanquishing great evil or embarking on a quest to save the Earth. Instead, it could be filled with joy and little adventures discovered right within the fabric of everyday life.
I am deeply and genuinely delighted that people across the globe have fallen in love with this gentle world and felt the desire to share it with their own children. This appreciation means everything to me.
We have many wonderful new stories in the works for the series. I am looking forward with great anticipation to the day we can share them all with you.
Comment from dwarf Executive Producer Yuriko Okada
I am absolutely thrilled that Mogu & Perol, the beloved characters from dwarf studios, are finally embarking on their own animation series.
My deepest gratitude goes to our trusted partner, Zephyr Animation, for their continuous efforts in bringing this project to fruition. We are also immensely thankful to France Télévisions and Hakka TV for their immediate belief in Mogu & Perol’s's potential and their commitment to the series.
Through close collaboration with our partners in France and Taiwan, we will tell the story of these two characters with opposite personalities, showing how they learn from each other and discover the joy and importance of new perspectives. We are committed to delivering a series that children and families worldwide will be able to enjoy together.
